Is biting a peculiar habit in hairless dogs?

I have an American hairless terrier and he is a hair less dog, but he has this weird habit of biting me. Since I live alone, and he is the only one I have for a companion, I don’t know what shall I do to stop him from doing it. I would also like to know if all the hairless dogs share this characteristic as such. I would also like to know what are the correct measures for training hairless dogs without being harsh on them. Mine is just 8 months old, and he is special for me. Therefore, I would really appreciate an appropriate response at the earliest. Thanks.

The American hairless terrier never ever has attained the characteristics of biting and nipping. This is not a part of their characteristic. Their temperament is that of a true terrier which includes them to be courageous and will also have a will to please the pet owner. Despite of being courageous this pet breed is not allowed to hunt rats, which is the most common exercise for terriers, since the breed is having no hair and which makes them more vulnerable than ever.

Now, the act of biting which is been exhibited by your American hairless terrier is due to the fact that you have failed to make yourself a pure leader in the eyes of your pet which has made him assume the alpha status in the eyes of your pet, which is why the pet is biting and doing all sort of unwarranted acts since he knows that you are not fit to control him. Now, the remedial action will want you to be nice and stern and the same time. Shower love and affection when the pet listens to you that he should not bite and be stern if it does not obey your command and nips at someone, despite of you telling him to not do so. I hope the information which has been provided to you in this section is of some help. Good luck.
