My bunny rabbit was killed by my beagle!

How can I show I am furious with my beagle for having killed my bunny rabbit? I love the little mutt even after he did what he did, but I have to teach him a lesson. I have another bunny rabbit and I wonder what will happen to him. I can’t trust my dog after this, do you think he is going to be after the other one. The other one is his cage, and the beagle can’t get to him. Everyone has said bad dog and ignored him since the incident took place which was yesterday.

The fault of your beagle to kill your bunny rabbit squarely lies upon you pal. You, as a pet owner, should have really given required consideration on the socialization part of the beagle. The beagle should be properly socialized if you happen to have other household pets with you.

I would say that the beagle should undertake socialization lessons with the one remaining pet bunny that you have. Now, what you can do is, you have to make the beagle first of all be aware that there is a pet bunny in the house and try to make beagle sit in front of pet bunny’s cage for some noted period of time so that he can recognize the pet bunny. Slowly and steady the beagle should be given the opportunity to interact with the pet bunny in the absence of cages. And you, as a pet owner, should also make sure that the pet bunny is cool with the beagle and should not entice the beagle in a chase. You have to make the beagle understand the bunny is a pet and should not be attacked upon. I really hope the information make some sense and helps you.
