What can I do to make comfortable dog beds for my small dog?

I am planning to make something cozy and comfortable for my miniature Yorkie puppy to sleep in. But I want it to be covered because I have noticed she likes to have something over her, I suppose this is due to probably because it is every dog’s instinct to want to be covered by something when they are sleeping because it resembles a den. What can I do to make comfortable dog beds for my small dog? I would really appreciate your views pertaining to this. Thanks.

If you ask me, then as a pet-owner, I feel you should make the doggie pal of yours to sleep in your own house. This shall give him a sense of security. I say with so much of conviction because I have tried both the methods- of making the dog sleep outdoors and making the dog sleep indoors, and what has really made an impression on my doggie and helped in creating a rock solid bond between both of us is, making him sleep indoors.

Now, since you have some rules then I would say you should add more straw in the kennel and also try to put in warm towels when he is about to sleep. The warm towels will not only create a soporific effect for the doggie pal of yours but will also help in making the dog be warm in cold nights. I hope the information provided in this section makes some sense.

The usage of warm towels can be done in such manner that it should not be drenched but should be warmed by keeping it in front of blower or heater, as drenched towels can be detrimental to the health of the mini yorkie. You can consider the usage of straw as the last resort, the use of blanket should be given higher preference, since the skin of mini yorkie’s can be a subject to higher levels of sensitivity. Good luck.
