Does one cup of homemade dog food in a day suffice for nutrition requirement of a small dog?

My dog’s skin is getting dry in these winters, and because of it, he keeps on scratching for most of the day. Although the vet has prescribed a lotion to him, I was wondering if I can add some oil or butter in his food, so that he doesn’t feel dry. I would also like to know whether how much should I give him to eat, as he is 6 months old, and just eats once in a day, that too around ¼ cup of rice and chicken piece mix. I would like to know if homemade dog food such as this would suffice to his nutrition requirements! Can some pets’ expert please advice about the required?

The best pet food which will help your pet to get all the necessary nutrients is the scientific diet for dog. It is the best food which a dog can get, and as you have not mentioned the age of the pet then I would say if it’s a pup then you should make sure that it gets all the possible nutrients and do not give the puppy any kind of commercial diet like scientific diet for dogs or something like that.

If the pet is not a puppy then I would like you to say that the pet can be given the commercial diet like scientific diet for dogs and Purina pro plus. And as far as the issue of dry skin is, then you can address it by applying oatmeal powder with fresh cold water. You can apply the paste of that oatmeal on the coat of your doggie which will help the doggie to have really nice and not so dry coat. I hope the information provided to you in this section makes some sense.
