What dog is right for me?

I am a lazy person. I do not like much of activity except once in a week. I working full time and I prefer staying indoors on weekends. I live with my roommate who is home during the day time as she has night shifts. I am out during the day and in during the night. There is no chance of the dog being left alone. When I am home, depending on my mood I may or may not play with the dog. I would love him to sleep with me on the bed and I would be beside him. I want him to be able to guard the house, be it the night or day. What dog is right for me? As a puppy every dog is active. I want a fast learner, obedient and highly intelligent dog.

No dog is suited for your life style. You have to be slightly more perked up and energetic to keep a dog, considering the fact that every dog, irrespective of the breed, needs to be taken out for regular walks. If you do not wish to take pets for walks and lead a reckless lifestyle then I would say you should just plan to take care of yourself and nobody else since keeping a pet is not done just for fun but also includes several responsibilities which must be understood in a proper fashion.

Actually such lackadaisical lifestyle is inappropriate for you also. You have to take care of yourself else you it will be highly problematic for you in the future. Get a pet for yourself and change your life style and comply with the pet’s needs, it will really bring a difference. Taking the pet out for a walk and making them eat on time, all these things will implicitly impact your own lifestyle. I hope the information makes some sense.
