Animal Welfare Bill to give pets their own 'Bill of Rights'

Wow, finally the time has come for pets to get their own identity and 'Bill of Rights' in UK. So, with five 'freedoms' - appropriate diet, suitable living conditions, companionship or solitude as appropriate, monitoring for abnormal behavior and protection from pain, suffering, injury and disease, especially assigned in their name, pets can expect more of love, respect and life.

Parliament is expected to pass the Animal Welfare Bill in couple of months that also imposes strict penalties on owners with fines up to £5,000 or even prison sentence in case they are found guilty of animal atrocity.
