Bird flu phobics don't dump your pets!
Avian flu is showing its deadly impact more on pet owners rather than the birds, but ultimately the poor birds are paying the price with their blood. Owners are dumping their pet birds like trash at animal sanctuaries fearing avian flu attack.

Dumped ducks, budgies, chickens and pigeons have overcrowded Hallswood sanctuary in Stratton Strawless and also the PACT animal sanctuary in Hingham. The authorities are forced to issue warnings against pet owners to check the practice as there is no more space left to accommodate more birds. But even than pet owners, in stead of handing over the birds to the sanctuary authorities, are simply dropping them off the roadside.
The root cause is ignorance and people are just not ready to believe that as long as their pets are inside there is no way they can contact flu.
