With canine flu on the rise, scientists have recommended to isolate the animals showing signs of canine flu. Dogs that are coughing should be kept at home for at least two weeks. However, you can treat your healthy dog normally without any fear of getting infected because only 20 percent of dogs without symptoms are likely to have it.

Other safety precautions must also be taken by the pet owners if their dog is infected, like alarming the veterinary hospital before taking the sick dog there.
