The agony of pet owners in Levuka, Fiji, is uncompromising. Several dogs and cats were ruthlessly executed during a dog poisoning campaign and that too without informing the pet owners. Was a single poster on a street lamp was enough to publicize the campaign? The Animal Health and Production division has denied the charges of negligence and improper information.

How can the health officials take such a cruel step when there are no troublesome stray animals?
