The pets name game: What's in a name?

I was surprised to hear my neighbor calling his cat Madonna. Another day one of my friend had a new bull dog and named him Brando, as he was a Marlon Brando fan. Yes, Human names have replaced the barking and tail waging names of our pets.

Why not names, when we have not left any stone unturned to humanize our furry friends by dressing them, opening hi-tech spa's for them, polishing their nails, scenting their bodies, and what not.

Petfinder's survey has revealed the whole name game going on in the pet world.

"For real pet lovers, a pet is just another member of the family, in which case a human name seems totally appropriate," said Petfinder.com president and co-founder Betsy Saul.

It's all about the love and respect we have for our pets.
