The tick onslaught: Is your pet prepared?

The tick platoon is ready to assault pets in Australia. Are you and your pet prepared to fight? Though present throughout the year, ticks mainly proliferate in spring. The Australian Paralysis Tick, Ixodes holocyclus regularly attaches to domestic dogs and cats.

Animals have no immunity to the neurotoxin injected by the tick that can cause skeletal muscle paralysis, respiratory depression, and even death.

Timely veterinary assistance can only check the situation. Don't just rely on chemicals to kill the intruders. Try Proban (Cythioate) tablets or liquid, given orally, Frontline Spray and TopSpot, Preventic or Kiltix collar and Permoxin rinse or spray.

Don't forget to search the pet's body and kill or remove all paralysis ticks.
