The West Virginia Exotic and Domestic Animal Control Act to be implemented soon

West Virginia legislature will soon redefine your perceptions of the 'exotic pet' world. The three bills, which are a part of 'The West Virginia Exotic and Domestic Animal Control Act', under consideration will check all aspects related to the so called exotic pets, including illegal trade, insurance and special permit for exotic pet owners.
The way the bills have defined "exotic" include "an animal other than a domestic animal or wildlife and includes a crossbreed of an animal that does not occur naturally either presently or historically within the boundaries of this state."It clearly means that pet owners with ferrets, canaries, snakes, beta fishes and other popular exotic pets have tough days ahead.
