Would you bring your pets on a cruise ship if they were allowed?

Pets are not for cruises. It’s a lunacy for a cruise ship to allow pets inside, and if they do, I am not going to be one of their passengers. So its moot whether I will bring my pet on a cruise ship. I will not go on one that lets me bring my pet on it.

Make no mistake, I love my dog (and my horse) as much as any man. But I do not think a cruise is a good place for either. My dog will go crazy with the ambience and the hostile faces, my horse simply would not go. If I want to spend time with my pets, when I want to spend time with my pets, and I stay at home and do that. When I am going out on a cruise, it means I DO NOT want to spend time with my pets, I want them to leave me alone, so I can get away from their inability to perform their natural functions outdoors, or ride well, or whatever, and get on a cruise and sail away with the starlets. What’s wrong with that?

There is a certain beauty to sailing on the high seas, even on a modern day luxury cruise that looks like a mini shopping mall and costs more than one. I romanticize, I dream, I feel like a perfect buccaneer. But if my poodle jumps on my lap and does his toilet while I am in that dreamy mood on a ship’s deck, unpleasant things are likely to happen. Moreover, there simply isn’t enough space for a nice dog to roam around a cruise shop, nor enough good lamp posts. So no, I would not be bringing any pets to cruise ships.
