Hey there. You know what be it mastiffs or any other breed, all need to be weaned early and then the diet pattern for the mastiff pups start. It is of prime importance that the diet pattern of the pup which has been given to them from the very beginning by the breeder should be kept in mind since if you won’t follow the diet pattern then it can seriously amount to several indigestion problems for the breed.
The quantity of food which is been given by the mastiff doggies changes as and when s/he matures. Generally speaking all American mastiffs must be fed at least 3 meals a day until they reach the age of 3 months; this is so since their (American mastiff breed’s) activity levels as and when they are pups is high. In between 3-6 months the pups are required to have 3 meals a day, after 6 months they are required to be given approx 2 meal a day until they turn one year old. And once they are a year old then you can give them one squared meal a day based on his exercising levels. The food which I give is scientific diet for dogs to my mastiffs.
I hope the answer is of some help to you.
