What is pet food recall?

Hi, could I get some information on what pet food recall is all about? What is the list of pet food recall? What information is important for me to know about this? Is it a brand or something else? What is the 1st class definition and 2nd class definition and so on? I tried reading about it on the page aceesdata.fda.gov and I did not understand what this page was talking about. Can you explain it to me in simple terms?

Hey, Pet food recall is done for the well-being of pets. It is a formation of list by the name Pet food recall which is been conducted by either the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) which can conduct it on request or order under statuary authority, or can be requested by the company who is into food production to check its quality. Pet food recall is a list which determines the foods that are not good for the health of pets and thus are taken out from the market.

This recall exercise takes place on several types of pet foods like pet foods for cats, dogs, birds, ferrets, fishes and rats.

A short excerpt from the recently posted recall list is as follows –

For the detailed list you can always go to the FDA website.

Now coming up to class 1 definition of recall, it is a situation where there is a probability that the use of, or exposure to, a volatile product will cause a serious effect on health of the pet.

The class 2 definition states that the use of product might produce a temporary or medically reversible health consequence over the pet.

I hope it solves the purpose.
