Pet training tips for your dog to walk without a leash!

I need pet training tips on how to make my dog walk without a leash. I have a lab, and you know how labs can get. I do not recall anyone walking a Labrador without a leash. I too can only keep my pet free in the dog park. I want him to learn to listen to me without the leash. He is uncontrollable at times. What do you suggest I do? He would listen to me when he feels like it, but not all the time. He listens to my father, because my dad has a dominating voice.

The non-punitive method of training or the positive reinforcement approach where in the dog will then slowly and steadily understand what kind of behavior should be shown when a certain action or stimuli is passed. If the desired action is been executed, then it will be a good thing as it shall make it earn lots of love and treats. If you will adopt a punitive approach for training then it will not yield favorable results. And you should consider yourself a lucky chap as the two welsh corgis are still pups because, as far as my experience goes, puppyhood is regarded as the best age for making your pup learn things at a quick rate, now if you would ask me of things which you should do to make your doggie walk without a leash is, first of all, try to be dominant over him. The dogs tend to run around here and there when they are not on leash, so conducting the training session at roads will not be safe for the pet as while running unleashed here and there can hit them by a car or something.

So it is advisable first make the dog roam at your home or garden area or backyard, without a leash, and then if he jumps or scrams in the backyard or garden area or house then you should shout “stop!” which should have a mental impact on the dog’s brain which should make his motions stop. And then attempt doing the same thing while the doggie is not on leash at road, if the word- “stop!” is conditioned in the pet’s head then it will be really good for the pet. Adopting such techniques will make the pet a good walker without the leash. I hope the information is of some help.
