Picked one from a bunch of kittens for adoption!

I bought home a kitten. There were a couple of kittens for adoption. I picked up a Charteux. It was a bit jumpy when bought him I had to get him in a crate, initially he scratched me. I am not sure what his story was but I know that he is going to take time to adjust. When I let him out of the crate in the house he dashed out and ran off. He is somewhere in the house and I have put out the food for him, he has eaten once. I have decided to stay away; I will let him some to me. Tell me if I am right? He has not come to me at all.

This is a very nice approach which you are following at present. Keeping away from the kittens and letting the kittens get adjusted and acclimatized to the house is a wonderful thing that you are doing. As soon as, the bunch of kittens will get accustomed to the kitchen then it will be really great and just make sure of one thing that you do not let the kittens to be on the loose for a longer period of time and put some fencing or something of the sort which will let the kittens to remain inside the premises of the house.

Be patient with the kittens, and create a trail of your kitties favorite treats which will be followed by the kitties, making sure the trail will be ended on you. This is a very good technique to be friendly with your kitties. I hope the information provided in this section is of some help.
