There is a lot of difference in the process of getting a pet from a physical pet store and getting the same from a virtual one. As far as my opinion is concerned, I feel those who buy pets online can’t be great pet owners. Because if they are not willing to do the running around for their pets in the procedure of establishing a relationship then we cannot expect them to maintain a good master pet relationship for the future.
But for the heck of answering, I will tell you that the main difference between the two is that online - you can’t meet your pet, you can’t hear his/her voice, his little bark of surprise after seeing you. You’ll miss all of it. And if you are asking me in terms of practical procedures of getting a pet, then there isn't much difference.
A major perquisite is to have plastic money, a decent net speed and ample free time. But still my advice would be to go visit a pet store and get your sweetheart. And yes, any and every breed is present in the online pet store which you may or may not find in the physical pet store. Hope you found this useful.
