Is rimadyl for dogs safe?

Have you ever given your dog rimadyl? I have heard that rimadyl for dogs is not safe, it has side effects also. What is this medication given for? Under what circumstances is this doze given to dogs. I have heard that this medicine is recommended only under extreme conditions. I have never heard of good results coming from this medicine. If my veterinarian recommends it should I ask for something else? Tell me everything about rimadyl.

If we consider all the NSAIDS( non steroidal antiinflammatory drugs) then probably Rimadyl has one of the worst backgrounds regarding liver damage. It is somewhat brutal on the liver, so avoid giving Rimadyl to your pet. There are other options available like metacam, zubrin, deramaxx which are safer rather than using Remadyl. Make sure that you get your pet's bloodwork checked every 6 months when you are on a chronic medication but I would rather advise you to stay away from the rimadyl because there are more bad things than good things. Rimadyl should be used for important reasons only. It would be a little bit more safe if you talked with your veterinarian about this drug, because you're not sure if this is safe or not.
