Why is my saluki dog not eating any kind of dog food lately?

I have a 15 year old Saluki who has been amazingly healthy. But just recently, he stopped eating any kind of dog food, wet or dry and only wants table food. One thing that I have noticed lately is that he will gladly eat ham & bread from the refrigerator. But I'm afraid he is not getting proper nourishment. He still can chew his chicken jerky treats which he loves, so I don't think it's a tooth problem. Why is my saluki dog not eating any kind of dog food lately? I would really appreciate your useful advice. So please advice. Thanks.

The table food, the food which we humans eat, is not that cool for the doggie pals as it will not be providing the high quality protein which a raw meat would be providing to your doggie pal. Now what I will suggest you is, that you, as a pet owner, have to be really stern and keep the Saluki under your thumb.

And considering the age of Saluki it can be possible that he does not feel like having any more food since age always introduces plunge in the apatite of your doggie pal. Considering the age of the doggie pal, I will recommend you to give your doggie pal high amount of protein and which can also help in giving your doggie pals strength and energy, you can also impart the Saluki doggie a diet which is having less carbs and sugar because they are often difficult for digest for the doggie of your pet’s age. I hope the information is of some help.
