Is Siberian husky good dog for petting?

I was wondering if a Siberian husky is a good dog for petting as I have wanted a dog since my childhood, but never had one. But I want to ask about few things from people who have this dog as their pet. What are some good and bad things about Siberian husky? Which gender is better to handle, male or female? Are they easy to house train? How long can I leave them locked up if I am not around? Are they good with kids? Which time is best to get them as a pet? Is it when they are puppy or as an adult? What do you guys think? Waiting for some useful replies. Thanks.

Hey, it is great that you are going in for the Siberian husky for yourself. I also have the breed and it makes a perfect house pet. As far as my baby is concerned, he never created any problems with the house breaking. But yeah, you can take the training tips from me, as they were a trifle difficult to train. The need a fair amount of exercise, you have to remember one fact about the husky which is, they are sled dogs. They are actually working dogs so they need more exercise.

Lethargy does not suit them. But understand the hard truth that lethargy is liked by everyone, so don’t let them get engulfed in the same for which you need to be great master. A good pet owner is not only the one who makes the pet happy but one who will exercise great control over him/her and make the pet an obedient pet. My husky is a great jogging companion.

The huskies as pets need good walks. I take my husky out for a walk twice a day. They enjoy it, but make sure that you don’t take them out for long walks in hot weathers. They will not be able to tolerate it as they are basically hailing from a cold region.

So normal walks, twice a day in normal winter season will be do fine for your husky. If the weather is hot then take the husky out for a short walk once a day. I hope the answer is of any help.
