The general principle is that travel can be quite stressful for pets because it exposes them to new surroundings and to strangers. So, as an owner you should keep the pet happy and as a good tourist, you should respect the community as well. Here are 10 things I recommend -
1) Leash and Pole so that your pet does not wander away
2) Mouth Muffler especially for dogs so that their barking can be suppressed
3) Nail Clipper so that their nails are not sharp to hurt others
4) Treats so that pets can be controlled
5) Toys so that pets are distracted
6) Emergency Medicines for common ailments so that you do not have to run around for a vet office in a new place. Also good to carry first-aid and anti-bite medicines if something nasty happens to strangers because of your pets
7) Toiletries so that the pets can be cleaned after any adventures such as trekking
8) Identity Tags and Photos so that pets can be traced if they get lost
9) Food and Water so that you do not have to search around in new stores
10) Regular Feeding Bowls so that there is something constant and familiar for pets
This not expert advise but just common sense and experience. You must know more about your dogs than I ever will and so, use it as a guide and feel free to add more to the list.
