How to train your dog to use doggy doors?

I have just bought and installed a doggy door for my two dogs. Both are just over two years old. And I guess this would be a new thing for them. I don’t want to force them to use this doggy door. Instead I want to know from people how I can encourage them to use this doggy door. Can someone help me with some ways to train the dog to use doggy door? I would really appreciate your replies pertaining to my query. Thanks.

I can understand your concern and I would like to help you with the matter. Don’t worry as dogs can easily learn to use a dog door. I would like to share with you certain tips to train your dog regarding the doggy doors usage. The initial step includes complete removal of the flap covering the door. Make sure that the opening is completely open and the dog can see outside. Next you need to bait the dog through the door with treats, toys, or affection. Using quality treats like cheese or meat is always a good option. You can also try leaving the dog outside, set food inside, and encourage the dog to come through the door. You will probably notice that with the flap still detached, the dog willingly go through the unobstructed opening. The third step involves a covering firmer than the cloth. Once your pet is completely comfortable entering and exiting through the silent doggie door cover, then begin with step four. Now you need to re-attach and coax your dog through. Your pet should readily go through it in the normal way. This would help you a lot to make your dog learn the usage of doggy doors. I hope that I have helped you with the matter.
